Hi all,

I recently left an interior light on in the gal, and upon returning to her 2 days latter found the battery dead.

Jump started her and took her round the block to give some charge. When I went to lock the car (Non remote) the lock seemed much easier than usual, but didn't lock the car. Now the lock won't move at all and I feel a bit of a tool having to unlock the boot and clamber through.

Any advice on how to fix?

Also, ever since getting a jump start, the drivers airbag warning light has stayed on, a guy I know who used to work for VW has said it was caused by incorrectly jump starting, any advice??

Not sure this will help but I have had a similar problem - The lock on the drivers door just spins - I have to activate and deactivate the central locking by using either the boot or the passenger door. The drivers door will open then.

I had a spate of issues which I have always thought were caused by the wires cracking on the door pillar (drivers side).

Interestingly my airbag warning light is constantly on, but I had been told it was something to do with constantly moving the drivers seat?? (My wife and I share the car).

Can't offer a solution but glad it's not just me.

It certainly is an issue with the seat in some cars particularly the MK1 Vauxhall Vectra, but that is to do with the connector for the wires for the seatbelt pre-tensioners.

I suppose there could be a similar issue with Galaxies with side air-bags etc.

It is not an MOT failure though, but you I would think you would want to get it sorted asap. If it is a common fault there will be a TSB about it, I will look and see in a moment.

It sounds like the module has had a fit for some reason. Is the ECU for the central electrics under the driver's seat? It can get wet there and will lock and unlock the doors and open and close the window of it's own accord, flattening the battery.

The airbags will have to be reset at a garage that has a suitable interface (most good garages will have this these days) or using VAG-COM.

My passenger door lock just spins round, I'm assuming because it's had another lock fitted in it's life.

Drivers door lock doesn't move at all.

Can't deactivate central locking from boot lock, so I have to unlock the boot, clamber through, unlock the drivers side rear door, jump back out, open that door and reach through to unlock drivers door. What a cuffuffle!!!!!
